Cow Electrocution in MudiSemar: 2 Cattle Dead, Villagers Demand Action

Vindhamganj, May 26:
A tragic incident occurred in MudiSemar village under Vindhamganj police station area on Sunday, where two cows lost their lives after coming in contact with a live electric wire. The event triggered outrage among villagers, especially cattle owners, who held the electricity department responsible for negligence and demanded immediate compensation.

As per local sources, residents Ramvilas Yadav and Thaggu Yadav were returning from grazing their cattle in nearby fields. While walking back, two cows accidentally stepped on a fallen electric wire, reportedly from a nearby power pole, resulting in their instant death due to electrocution.

The owners managed to save the remaining cattle by using sticks to move the wire away. Emergency services, including the local police via 112 and the electricity department, were immediately informed. Within minutes, a large number of villagers gathered at the site, staging a protest against the power department.

According to villagers, the power line had already collapsed in the field a few days prior. Residents claim they had informed the electricity department in advance, but no action was taken. Sarju Yadav, a local resident, mentioned that he had warned a contract worker, Upendra, who reportedly checked the wire and dismissed any danger by saying it wasn’t live.

However, a department worker, Sanjay Gupta, later claimed the wire had been deactivated months ago and expressed confusion over how electricity was flowing through it. The incident is now under investigation.

Key witnesses and villagers present included Sarju Yadav, Ghanshyam Yadav, Kamlesh, Nandkishore, Shivdas, Ram Kumar, Brij Kishore, Rajesh, Shivkumar Paswan, Naresh, and Asarfi.
